UK paediatrics exam to be held in India Saturday, 09.01.2010, 10:34am (GMT+5.5)
Medical graduates intending to write MRCPCH (Membership of Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health) examination no longer need go to the United Kingdom to take the test with RCPCH and the Indian Academy of Paediatrics (IAP) signing an MoU on Friday for conducting the exam at five centres in India from May this year.
Announcing this at a press conference here on the sidelines of the ongoing PEDICON-2010, the 47th National Conference of IAP, Terence Stephenson, president RCPCH and Deepak Ugra, president IAP, said the holding of the examination in India would increase the opportunities manifold for Indian doctors who were the largest group taking this exam outside the UK.
On an average, 800 medical graduates visit the UK to write the exam which was being conducted simultaneously in 10 countries, including Egypt, Hong Kong and Singapore.
MRCPCH test comprises three written papers (basic paediatrics, science of paediatrics and applied knowledge test) and a clinical examination and would be conducted in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata.
