Monday, 08.03.2010, 10:14am (GMT5.5)

This year has a lot to offer to movie buffs. From delightful animations, live action movies to those all time favorites- and more! Here's a tiny peek into what lies ahead!

Zokkomon: Walt Disney's first live action Hindi feature film starring Darsheel Safary, Anupam Kher and Manjiri Phadnis.

The music for the movie has been composed by Shanker-Ehsaan-Loy and the lyrics have been lent by none other than Javed Akhtar. Zokkomon revolves around Kunal, an orphan who faces a lot of hardships early in his life. The movie traces his journey as he finds a hero within and transforms into Zokkoman. In short, here's an uplifting tale of the adventures of an ordinary boy who overcomes challenges that are beyond ordinary.

Traditional treat

The Princess and the Frog: A heartwarming musical comedy, The Princess and the Frog is about Tiana who is struggling to save up enough money for a restaurant of her own and Naveen, Prince of Maldonia, who had to leave his country because of his extravagance. Naveen encounters a voodoo doctor who turns him into a frog. He mistakes Tiana for a princess and convinces her to kiss him; however, on kissing him she turns into a frog too! They now have to reach the good voodoo queen to break the curse before it's too late.

Alice in Wonderland: Based on the classic by Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland (the movie) comes with an all-star cast that includes Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Crispin Glover, Alan Rickman and Mia Wasikowska as Alice. Director Tim Burton does some magnificent storytelling as he takes us into the life of nineteen year old Alice who returns to Wonderland after ten years, where it's up to her to save Wonderland and all her friends from the cruel Red Queen and the Jabberwocky.

Toy Story 3: Starring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, Toy Story 3 is the final part of the series where Andy (who owns the toys) is leaving for college and all his toys are to be put in the attic, however, they get accidentally thrown, donated to a local daycare where they meet some very fun-loving children who aren't very careful with the toys, besides there is also Lotso- a stuffed bear villain.

Catch the movie to know what the toys do next, as they try escaping to find a new home for themselves.

Interesting facts

The Princess and the frog marks the comeback of Walt Disney Animation's hand drawn classics, moreover it is a first in many ways.

To begin with the movie introduces Disney's first African-American princess Tiana. It is also Disney's first princess film since "Mulan"

in 1998.

To create one drawing for the Princess and the Frog, it took animators almost 20 minutes. Also, to truly appreciate "what makes frogs frogs", the animators brought it a whole lot of actual frogs into the studio.

There seems to be a very interesting reason behind the bright orange coloured hair of the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. Hatter's hair colour is used by the filmmakers to suggest the ill-fated mercury poisoning that most hat-makers suffer from, because of the mercury that they use in a process called “felt curing” while making hats. Here we see Hatter too suffering from the unfortunate effects of hat making.

Helena Bonham Carter's head was digitally increased to almost 3 times its actual size in Alice in Wonderland for her character- the Red Queen.
