T-Summit 2007 - A National Level Entrepreneurship Fest
Thursday, 29.03.2007, 10:38am (GMT+5.5)

Here's a conference that seems perfectly relevant to the times we live in, except that the organizers are 20-year-olds. On second thoughts, if you use the word "except" there, perhaps you are not relevant to the times we live in.

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) of CBIT is organising the Technopreneurial Summit 2007 (T-Summit 2007), the first ever national technology-entrepreneurship conference of Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology (CBIT), on 12th & 13th March at the CBIT campus and on 14th March at Taramati Baradari.

T-Summit 2007 is a celebration of technology based entrepreneurship. The aim of this event is to make engineering and applied science students cognizant of the opportunities in entrepreneurship. The T-Summit Team, with support from EDC, wishes to remove the myths surrounding entrepreneurship and make technology students consider it as a career choice. This event also aims at making the student participants aware of intrapreneurship, and concentrates on the development of such skills in an individual.

The first two days of T-Summit 2007 bring together the best engineering and applied science brains to Hyderabad, and pit them against each other in a myriad of events designed to test their entrepreneurial abilities, as per details given below:

iDEATE
This is designed to help technopreneurs (anyone with an innovative technological concept, idea, or plan of a new product or process is a technopreneur) communicate and organize their concepts... a critical step towards future success. This event has two rounds - The Elevator Pitch (a 2 minute presentation) and The Board Room.

adZapp
From News Ads to Radio Jingles and TV commercials, if the participants can sell anything under the sun, in any of the methods they are asked to, they are crowned kings of pitching.

EChallenge
With a battery of contests that test the participant's creativity, problem-solving skills, marketing skills and business acumen, this one finds who the best entrepreneurs among all the participants are.

Chanakya
An exciting competition for those who think that a quiz can never be apart from the routine. It's not just audio or visual rounds, there will be fun stuff all through the course of the quiz.

Informalz
Events where all the participants need to compete in a lighter vein. These events are meant to ease the pressure on the participants and take them to an atmosphere where they can be comfortable and also help them win fabulous prizes.

Day 3 - Conference

The third day, the actual conference will showcase of some of the best entrepreneurs of the country, speaking on several topics such as Engineering and Entrepreneurship, Ideation Process, Technology Ventures, Innovation and Venture Capital. It is planned in the conference format, and will be on invitation-only event. The invitees include academicians, corporate representatives, local entrepreneurs, bankers and venture capitalists.

Some of the focus areas of this conference are:

Why the ideal entrepreneur of tomorrow must be an engineer or have a technology education
Intrapreneurship: What kind of entrepreneurial skills an engineer or scientist needs to perform well in an organization.

What a typical engineering student needs to know to understand and succeed in the process of launching a new venture Profiles of successful technology ventures
