HYDERABAD: Commuters using city buses can heave a sigh of relief as the RTC authorities have decided to operate the full fleet of city services, despite the indefinite strike called by Joint Action Committee of RTC Employees Union from Tuesday and the ‘rail roko’ and ‘rasta roko’ agitations by the Telangana Students JAC supporting statehood.
The JAC of RTC Employees Union had called for indefinite strike seeking wage hike and other demands. Though a few conductors and drivers of the JAC would participate in the strike, efforts are on to operate buses with members of other unions, informed a senior official.
On the proposed ‘rail roko’ and ‘rasta roko’ agitations, the officer hoped that students would allow the city buses to ply and avoid inconvenience to commuters.
